Hi Guys! Today is an exciting day! IT”S CELINE DION’S BIRTHDAY! Haha! I am sure none of you really care but I am obsessed with her so it’s like a national holiday in my world lol! Anyways! On to this dress. I am soooo ready for spring you guys. This is the time of year where I question my sanity for living in NYC. My family in North Carolina are sitting outside on their patios while we shiver ha! I found this floral maternity dress for $17 and scooped it right up. There are only a few sizes left but I linked it for you guys hoping someone’s size is there. It’s so cute and perfect for spring :)! I also linked a few other options that I like from the same site.

In other news, we are moving in a week! We are moving in the building just three floors down so it isn’t a big move, but we had to upgrade to a two bedroom to make room for baby girl :). We are going to start packing over the weekend. Wish us luck!

Happy Monday everybody! I hope you all had a great weekend! Matt and I went to see Beauty and the Beast on Friday and we were both so blown away by how awesome it was. It was like taking a step back into my childhood! Saturday night we went to the wedding of my dear friend Dana and her new hubby Matt. It was so much fun and I loved getting a chance to dress up the bump! You can see what I wore here!

Anyhoo! Throughout this pregnancy I have definitley gotten more and more into making sure my clothing is comfortable. That was never a priority before, but now that I am getting more and more physically uncomfortable, I figure my clothes shouldn’t make that worse haha! I love wearing dresses because they are super comfortable and are easy to style as all you need is a shoe and accessories. I found this dress by Lilac Maternity and loved the neutral color palate and stripes. I will say that this dress looks super purple in these photos. It was a really overcast day and for some reason it photographed way more purple than it looks online. It is the same dress though! I also wanted to shout out the fact that I am wearing tan fishnets in these pictures. You can’t really see them in the photos but I am obsessed with them and wanted to share them with you guys! These Oroblu tan fishnet tights are the absolute best! I get so tired of wearing black tights with everything in the winter, but I am also not the biggest fan of pantyhose. The best answer to this dilemma is to invest in a pair of tan fishnets. They allow you to wear all kind of different color palates in the winter while still keeping you warm! I highly recommend them.

On another note, Matt and I had our 21 week scan today and baby girl looks perfect! Apparently that is my last ultrasound unless my doctor wants to send me in for one before my due date, but how crazy is that?! She is almost a full pound and is around 10 inches long. I’m sad it’s my last ultrasound because I love seeing her move and flip inside my tummy, but that means she is healthy so I am not complaining! I hope you all have a great rest of your week!

Hey hey everybody! I know it’s only Wednesday, but I am so excited for the weekend! I am heading to a dear friend’s wedding on Saturday night and I seriously can’t wait! It’s black tie so I rented this dress from Rent the Runway. I just got a size up in the dress to accommodate the bump :)! The wedding is in NYC at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. I may not be the norm, but I absolutely LOVE going to weddings! I just think they are a blast and I love celebrating the love between two people, nothing better!!

Anyways, with spring “officially” upon us, I figured it’s time to put together some transitional spring looks. I got this fabulous maternity pencil skirt from Asos for under $25 and I can already tell I will get tons of wear out of it. It’s super versatile, not to mention comfy. I paired it with a slouchy off the shoulder sweater and my favorite ankle booties. I am thinking of buying them in the brown color to pair with spring dresses since they are on sale for $70 right now. thoughts?!

I hope you all have a great rest of your week!

Hi Guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We registered at Buy Buy Baby this past weekend and holy moly!!! There is so much stuff you need to have a baby! It was a little overwhelming and we only got through one floor. I have to go back and register for the items on the other floor so I am currently mentally preparing myself ha!

Anyways, now that I am 5 months pregnant, I am officially out of my regular jeans and only able to wear maternity jeans. Let’s be real though, I was in those babies way before now. No pun intended ;). I popped a lot earlier than some women but hey, everyone is different. Because I popped so early, the first thing I went to purchase were jeans. I luckily am able to wear jeans to work and I find that jeans can be dressed up or down so I figured I’d buy a few inexpensive pairs just to hold me over for the next nine months. I had no intention of investing at all in maternity jeans since I knew I would be wearing them for a limited time. That was before I really understood how much a difference good quality maternity jeans make!

I started out by buying a few pairs from Old Navy and H&M.  Now, to be fair, in regards to the Old Navy jeans, I only purchased one pair of them but they really did not work for me. They literally refused to stay put and I wore them on a trip and I was pulling my pants up the entire time walking through the airport. I was so frustrated by the end of my trip that I threw them away ha! I don’t recommend going with their jeans unless you can wear a belt but I thought that looked ridiculous lol. The H&M jeans were better in the fit and definitely stayed on but the button of the pants went so low that I could only wear tunics! It was so strange. The button literally went all the way down to my pelvis lol so I couldn’t really wear them. I also felt that they didn’t stay up very well. Better than the Old Navy version but not great. After these two denim disasters I was getting frustrated, so I looked to my beloved ASOS for new options. I purchased these grey jeans and these boyfriend jeans. I purchased a few others in between but these are the only two I ended up keeping. The grey jeans were cute and they have a tightening button on the inside to help with staying up. The boyfriend jeans are also great and I recommend them. They are incredibly comfy and I don’t have an issue with them staying up. That said, neither are amazing in the fit and feel but the price is right so I would recommend them.

It wasn’t until I went shopping with my Mom and sister at Destination Maternity that my world was rocked. My Mom had me try on a pair of AG jeans and I have never looked back! They literally are the most comfortable maternity jeans on planet earth. They fit perfectly and I don’t have to pull them up or down. They just fit. I know they are insanely expensive but I really can’t say enough about them. They also have a great fabric belly band that will continue to grow with you as your belly gets bigger. I purchased this pair, but if you are a little shorter than me you would probably prefer this pair as the inseam is cropped. Now if I had just started with this pair in the beginning I would have spent less money in the long run! I would have bought two pairs of these and called it a day!

Ok, enough about maternity jeans 🙂 and on to this fabulous blouse! I had been looking for a long tunic maternity blouse and I think I found the perfect one! This Maternal America one is really comfortable and it accommodates the bump very well. I can tell it will grow with me. I actually received this blouse through a service called LE TOTE. My friend Amber recommended it to me. More about that service later though, I will be doing a full review in the coming weeks of the service!

I hope you guys enjoyed this review. If you have any other items you’d like me to review let me know!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week. The cold and snow came back upon us naive New Yorkers this week with a vengeance! It took all of my might to stand outside for 10 minutes to shoot this look! It has been so cold that all I wanted to wear was oversized cozy items, so I kept my new spring options in the closet and threw on this cozy casual look. I bought this oversized sweater at the beginning of the fall season last year and I have gotten SO MUCH wear out of it. It is so warm and cozy. Sadly this color is sold out but there are a few options left over in the navy. It’s super oversized though and completely covers my bump! I swear I am still pregnant and I shot this less than a week ago ha! I paired this sweater with boyfriend jeans and ankle booties. Very chill and cozy.

I also wanted to share that today, I am 20 weeks pregnant and half way through baking this sweet baby! I honestly can’t believe it. It’s going so fast! I got a great response from my first “bumpdate” so I thought I’d keep it up and share a little more into my experience thus far. These are questions that a lot of you have asked so I thought i’d gather them up and answer them!

How far along are you?

I am 5 months pregnant! Halfway and 20 weeks along. You are really pregnant for 10 months…no one really tells you that!!

Due Date:

August 4th

What are your cravings?

This is so weird but I have been craving shrimp tempura sushi. I always liked sushi before I got pregnant, but I NEVER craved it. Now I can’t get enough of it and because I can’t have the raw stuff I settle for shrimp tempura. I think it’s really the salt in the soy sauce that I love so much. How weird is that though?! I also have been loving Milano cookies. I really like the orange flavor . I’m very into citrus. Craving grapefruit and orange and apples etc. Oh! And I looooove iced tea. It tastes so refreshing to me during this pregnancy haha!

Boy or Girl?

BABY GIRL!

What size is the baby?

She is the size of a banana…whatever that means lol!

How are you sleeping?

Still sleeping so well mostly because of the magical snoogle! I tend to get about 9 hours a night of sleep. Hope my amazing sleep habits continue through to the end. Fingers crossed.

Have you felt the baby kick yet?

YES! I finally started to feel her kick. They are super faint and feel like there is an actual butterfly trapped inside of me, but I definitely feel her. I am so excited to feel her even more as she gets stronger.

What has been the hardest thing about your pregnancy thus far?

I think the hardest thing about this pregnancy is how much I have struggled to stay active. Before I got pregnant, I used to work out 4-5 times per week. I love my dance fitness and staying active! Right before I got pregnant I suffered a neck injury that kept me from working out for about a month. I actually pulled my neck in my sleep so terribly that I could barely walk. The pain lasted for over a month and I had to go to therapy for it. It was not fun to say the least. I found out I was pregnant and I was still going to therapy so I wasn’t going to hop back in to working out any time soon. The first trimester was also a challenge because I was so nauseous and exhausted. Working out sounded like the absolute last thing I should be doing! Once I entered into my second trimester I started feeling a lot better, but that’s when the back pain started. I would go to a workout class and feel good during it, but then leave with a horrible back ache. It’s been so frustrating because I want to work out, but my body is just not on board! I have been good about walking though which has helped with my sanity. I walk to and from work now that the weather has gotten a little better and that has definitely helped. This isn’t really that big of an issue. I know that so many women have such harder struggles during pregnancy and I do not want to sound like a brat. I just find it frustrating to have had my normal exercise and routine change so much. I just want to be as strong and healthy as I can for baby girl, but my doctor says the most important thing is to relax and listen to my body. So that’s what I’m trying to do. If you guys have any advice or have had similar issues during pregnancy let me know. It always helps to know I am not alone in what I am going through :).

Another thing that has been hard to adjust to has been the transition and changes my body goes through on a daily basis. Some days I wake up and I don’t even recognize myself! It’s hard to keep up with the changes, but I am trying to embrace them and go with the flow. I just have to keep reminding myself that this isn’t my body right now, it belongs to this incredible baby girl inside of me.

What do you miss about before being pregnant?

I think what I miss most is having more energy to go out and be social. Before getting pregnant, Matt and I would go out a few times a week for dinners, date nights and drinks with friends. Since getting pregnant I have had a tough time rallying after 6:00 P.M. hah! My current idea of a fun evening is ordering take out and snuggling up with Matt on the sofa watching a movie. I have gotten better at being more social but it is not easy! I am just so tired at the end of the day so the idea of getting dressed up and going out isn’t appealing. That said, it is important that I get up and go out sometimes, so I do. Matt is so amazing and would literally stay in every single night with me if he could. I feel very lucky that he enjoys staying in and snuggling with me and baby as much I love it :).

What is your favorite part about pregnancy?

Being pregnant has been one of the greatest blessings of my whole life. I love knowing that Matt and I created this little person from our love for each other and that she will be a part of both of us. It is such an incredible experience and I simply feel so blessed to be pregnant. Despite the challenges of pregnancy, there really are no words to explain this unbelievable experience and all I can say is that it’s the best time of my life so far.

I hope you guys enjoyed this bumpdate!

Hi Everyone! Hard to believe it, but today I am 19 weeks pregnant! I will be halfway into my pregnancy a week from now. It has started to go so fast and I truly can’t believe we are already this close to meeting baby girl Q. This week I have started to feel little flutters and it’s just the coolest thing. When I am sitting down and still is when I can feel her even more. Apparently over the next few weeks she will continue to get stronger and stronger and her little kicks and movements will be even more prevalent. I can’t wait!

Last weekend I was in NC and went maternity shopping with my Mom and Sister at Destination Maternity. The nearest Destination Maternity to NYC is in Paramus New Jersey and man do I wish we had one closer. We literally didn’t have to go anywhere else. They have everything you would possibly need or want. They have high end to low end price points and needless to say we did some major damage lol! I got this dress on our shopping trip and it is one of my favorite pieces that we purchased. I love the color and the fit is really flattering. As you can all tell, I have been embracing the body-con and the bump so I was drawn to this option right away. It is also on sale right now for $70. Their site is running a sale for buy one get one 50% off. I am excited to take it into spring with nude sandal heels and a light weight trench.

Next Friday I will be doing a halfway mark pregnancy bumpdate so make sure to stop back by the blog if you want to hear more about my journey so far. I’d love to answer any questions you may have so feel free to email me at Jess@letsjessup.com or comment on this post if you’re curious about anything!

Sweater Dress: Asos Sneakers: Converse Similar here and here

Hi Guys, I hope you all had a great weekend. I got back Sunday night from spending the weekend with my family in North Carolina. Matt had a bachelor party to go to so I decided to jet home to spend some much needed time with family and my Mom and sister. We spent the whole weekend maternity shopping together and it was the BEST! Nothing like a little family time to feed my soul. I returned just in time for the FREEZING cold. You guys, i’m just so over the cold!

Anyways, the only good thing about the cold is that I can rock this Asos oversized sweater dress. It’s under $40 and literally feels like wearing a snuggie lol. I paired it with a pair of Converse sneakers and called it a day. So easy to throw on and perfect for running errands on the weekend when you want to look put together but comfy.

I can’t wait to show you guys all the goodies I got this weekend. My Mom and sister were so generous and treated me to some incredible pieces for my maternity wardrobe. I am offering a MAJOR shout out to both of them!

I also wanted to thank all of you who commented or reached out personally to congratulate Matt and I on Baby girl Q. It means so much to us and can’t thank you all enough!

I am so so so excited to announce we are having a baby girl :)! I absolutely burst into tears of happiness the moment we found out. It’s so strange because I just knew it was a girl from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I can’t explain how I knew, but I just did. I started getting really anxious before we found out though because I was worried that maybe my intuition was wrong and I’d been calling her she this whole time when it was a boy! Needless to say, my intuition was right! Matt and I are so excited to welcome this little angel into our lives. I just can’t wait to see Matt as a Dad to a little girl. It melts my heart already just to think about it. I can’t wait to teach her everything I know, sing her all the lullabies…especially the Celine ones ;), and the list goes on. This feels like a divine blessing and we couldn’t be more thankful.

I wanted to shout out my cousin Mikael’s company BalloonStand and thank them for providing the balloons for my shoot! Balloon Stand is an on-demand balloon delivery service in NYC. Kind of brilliant, right?! It’s super annoying to pick up balloons in NYC and tote them home on the subway. Now, you can have them delivered on demand! They are in beta mode right now but enter your email to learn when they go live!

Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Sending lots of love your way from NYC!

Dress: Asos On SALE!!! Shoes: Zara Similar: Shein & Selfridges

Warm weather in NYC means it’s time to pull out some new spring dresses! We had some incredible weather this week and I was super excited to shoot this fun off the shoulder frock and not freeze my tush off! I found this Asos dress on sale and knew I would get a ton of wear out of it this spring. I loved the off the shoulder detail and the fact that it sort of hangs off the belly making the illusion that I am a bit smaller than I actually am ha! I paired it with a fun pair of Zara loafers. Loafers are having a moment right now and I have been lusting after these Gucci ones. I feel like they are SUPER classic and id get a ton of wear out of them but alas, I need to start saving for baby :). Oh how priorities change!

I also thought it would be sort of fun to share some insight into my pregnancy since I have been getting a lot of questions. So, here are some answers to those below!

How far along are you?

I am 4 and a half months pregnant! Two weeks from half way!! Time is flying :/!

What are your cravings?

The first three months I had this weird craving for anything artificial strawberry flavored. I craved strawberry cereal, strawberry cream cheese and strawberry Nutrigrain bars ha! I also could only eat very bland and boring food because I was so nauseous all the time. I actually lost 7 lbs the first few months of my pregnancy because I was so nauseous. I started feeling better around 3 months and now I am able to eat healthier options and salads and food with actual flavor. I don’t crave anything in particular anymore but if I want something, I HAVE to have it. It’s like an animal instinct. I totally get the pregnancy cravings now…they are no joke!

Boy or Girl?

I will announce soon I promise!

What size is the baby?

One of my apps says it’s the size of a sweet potato. The other says the size of a pomegranate. Doctor says 6 ounces.

How are you sleeping?

Amazing. I literally could sleep all day every day. I also purchased this thing called a snoogle and it has changed my life! I think everyone should own the snoogle even if you aren’t pregnant. It has helped me so much with early back pain and offers a ton of support. Highly recommend!

Have you felt the baby kick yet?

Not yet, but I swear I feel little flutters sometimes but that could just be gas haha!

Ok, I feel like that covers it for now. Feel free to reach out with questions and i’ll answer them on the blog!
