Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July! Matt and I had a very busy weekend. We went out to the Jersey shore for an overnight on Saturday and then the rest of the weekend we spent nesting and organizing for baby girl to arrive! We set up EVERYTHING and I honestly have to say I feel ready for her to come. It’s so surreal having all her things just set up and ready and all we need is a little babe to bring home. I am exactly one month from my due date as of yesterday, so I thought I’d do another “bumpdate” for those of you who want to know how my pregnancy has been going recently!
How far along are you?
I will be 36 weeks on Friday and a month out from my due date. Officially 9 months!
Due Date:
August 4th
What are your cravings?
iced tea, fruit (obsessed with peaches at the moment), bagels, donuts, ice cream, and I can’t get enough water. I am so thirsty all the time!
Boy or Girl?
Baby Girl!
What size is the baby?
We find out Friday exactly how much baby weighs but my app says baby should weigh around 5.5 lbs and is the size of a spaghetti squash. I have a feeling she weighs more than that considering how uncomfortable this has gotten!
How much weight have you gained?
I have gained 38 lbs and man do I feel it. It’s a weird thing to just watch the scale go up every week. I am pretty healthy most of the time and do my best to stay as active as I can. I can’t really exercise because of my back but I walk at least 2-3 miles a day. The weight I have gained feels different than fat. It’s hard to explain. I have such swollen everything, feet, hands, arms, legs, etc. and I feel like I just retain so much water. I have been told by my doctor that this is totally normal so I am just going with the flow, but it is so hard to gain weight. I have always been on the trimmer side so my body is certainly feeling the affects of the weight gain!
How are you sleeping?
I am still getting my sleep but it is becoming more and more difficult to get comfortable. The baby just feels really big these days and I have to have support under my belly to fall asleep. Thank goodness for the snoogle ;)!
Have you felt the baby kick yet?
Yes but instead of kicks I feel intense movement. She really favors the right side and has started to stretch her feet out and press. It’s the weirdest sensation and Matt has been able to actually feel her little feet through my belly. It isn’t comfortable for me but it’s so cute I don’t mind ;)!
What has been the hardest thing about your pregnancy thus far?
At this point physically everything is tough. I am super uncomfortable. I feel so unsteady and am definitely starting to waddle ha! I heard the last month is the hardest and I can confirm it certainly is!
What do you miss about before being pregnant?
Wearing cute shoes and heels! I can only wear my Birkenstocks and a few pairs of mens adidas sandals I bought lol. It is a bit limiting fashion wise ;). I’m also just ready to have my body back and not be in pain and uncomfortable all the time.
Thoughts, and extras
I am SO ready to have this baby and sometimes get overwhelmed thinking I still have at least four weeks left to go. I have to remind myself that this discomfort is going to result in a beautiful little girl but it isn’t easy to be content and present. Thank god for my amazing husband who is so supportive and loving. We are doing all we can to soak up this time just the two of us before baby girl comes.
