Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, am I right?! Spring has sprung and rooftop after-work drinks have begun! If you live in NYC, you understand that direct sunlight is a gift given from the heavens. With all the tall buildings around, it is rare to feel the sun on your skin making rooftops one of the best things EVER. During the summer time, I love to come  home after a long work day and enjoy a glass of wine on our rooftop in Flatiron!

I have recently discovered the tall section of Ann Taylor Loft and I’m loving it! I found this dress online and fell in love with the pattern. Sadly, the tall version of this dress is sold out, but you can still shop the petite size here. I paired this dress with a D’orsay lace up flat from Zara. These shoes are super comfortable and look really cute with jeans too. Dresses are so great for summer because you just throw them on without having to worry about putting a whole look together. They are also super comfortable and this dress is no exception.

What are you guys doing this weekend? Matt and I are heading to Boston and seeing the Boston Ballet’s Swan Lake on Saturday night. I can’t wait!

Hello lovelies!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Matt bought me the Apple Watch for Valentine’s Day which I love and wear every single day, but I don’t love the strap that came with the watch. It is super sporty and great to wear when working out, but it looks a little funny when paired with most outfits. So, when I came across The Ultimate Cuff on Instagram, I immediately knew this tech accessory was totally up my alley. It really is the ultimate Apple Watch accessory! I purchased the Cleo in Silver Rohdium but they have three different watch styles to choose from. You can even purchase the cuff in real gold and silver. I wear my cuff and Apple Watch every day and I can’t tell you how many compliments I receive. It really looks like a beautiful piece of jewelry and the most fashionable way to wear your Apple Watch!

Lucky for you guys, if you want to get your own Ultimate Cuff, you can use the discount code LETSJESSUP to get 10% off your order! Just head to www.theultimatecuff.com to check it out!

As another added bonus, I linked out the off the shoulder top I am wearing in these pics. It is under $30 and has become one of my favorite purchases I’ve made this spring!

Here’s to a wonderful week ahead!

Thank you to The Ultimate Cuff for partnering on this post

Spring Cleaning. That word literally used to give me anxiety. That is until I spent an evening with the incredible Molly Emerson of The Organizing Act.

I have never been a naturally organized person…just take a look at the photo of my closet below! In fact, organizing is probably something I might be the worst at on my list of talents. This kind of stinks for someone with a TON of clothes and a small NYC closet. As I have gotten older, I have figured out some ways of organizing, or “tricking” myself into keeping things neat. I found that if I made a “home” for items, they would be easier to put away in comparison to items that didn’t have a place to go home to. In NY though, I used to think it was literally impossible for things to all have a “home” since we are all so pressed for space.

I had gotten a little fed up with my closet and reached out to my friend Molly for help. Incredibly, she obliged and came over on a Friday after work to help me. With a little wine, and Molly’s expertise, my closet was transformed. Lucky for my readers, she has given me VIP tips that she only shares with her clients. Check out the closet transformation below!

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.27.47 PM

So this was my closet. I am actually embarrassed to be showing you guys how awful it used to be! The door wouldn’t shut and I would simply keep hanging items on top of items as I hung them up. NOT a good strategy.

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.27.57 PM

This is the way I stored my handbags. Really nicely organized right?! NOT! I have a few designer handbags in there that are literally crying out for help. Also, you can see a sweater poking through the middle. Ridiculous.

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.28.05 PM

To the left on my closet, I stored sweaters in a see through box. Which is actually the ONLY thing I had that Molly recommended. She says to only ever purchase see through boxes so you can always see what is inside.  She also taught me how to fold my sweaters and items more efficiently so my sweater game was even stronger! Ha! To the other side of that, I stored a larger sweater that didn’t fit in the boxes, our extra bed sheets, and a yoga matt…awesome.

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.28.12 PM

Now if you thought my closet couldn’t possibly get any worse, you just needed to take a look at the way I stored my shoes. I literally didn’t. I just threw them into the bottom right corner of my closet. SUPER efficient…

After showing Molly the worst of the worst, she assured me that this wasn’t the worst closet she had ever seen. She said that it wasn’t even close to the worst…which was a little concerning but made me feel better about my disorganized self.

After taking in the damage, Molly got to work. She shared with me some very important things to keep in mind. I shared her tips below:

My number one rule is: Don’t keep anything in your closet that doesn’t make you feel amazing. Whether we like to admit it or not, clothing plays a huge part in our lives. Good outfits can make you feel like you can conquer the world! So why would you want to keep something that makes you feel anything less? Plus, if you’re not putting certain items into use, you’re wasting their existence! It took time and energy to create these products and there are many people in this world that would love and appreciate your treasures!

If that doesn’t convince you enough, here are some more reasons people want to keep items, but should not:

  • “If I loose 5 pounds, this will look great!” No! You want things that make you feel perfect NOW!
  • “My godmother gave this to me…” If you give it away, it doesn’t mean you don’t love her!
  • “I’ve had this for 20+ years!” Unless it’s still in flawless condition or you’re DEFINITELY going to pass it down to your children, bid farewell!
  • “I’ve never worn, this BUT…” If you haven’t worn it by now, chances are you won’t in the future!
  • “I love this, but it needs to be tailored” Unless you’re going to take it to the tailor by the end of the week, say goodbye!

Getting rid of the items you don’t use allows you to let go of your past and discover the present you! Leaving your heart, mind, and home open for new, wonderful experiences.

This was really hard for me to comprehend! I don’t consider myself a “hoarder” per say, but I can always think of an excuse to keep a piece of clothing. As a fashion blogger, I am always trying to re-style an item in a new way. That said, if it doesn’t fit, if I haven’t worn it etc. it really should get kicked to the curb…so we started to take everything out of the closet to determine what I was going to KEEP, GIVE AWAY, OR DISPOSE.

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.28.32 PM

This got easier and easier. When we first started going through things, I was really hesitant. That said, as I started to say “donate” or “giveaway” I felt a sense of weight being taken off my shoulders making the process a lot more fun! I was clearly concerned about this skirt…which I haven’t worn in over a year and a half!

Debating over a denim jumpsuit…note the wine ;)!

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.29.50 PM

This took a little over an hour and a half. Finally, we had made our piles. Now was the time to vacuum the closet and start putting the “keep” items back in. Molly has a great system for this which I also shared below:

Create a home for each object that you keep. If it doesn’t have somewhere to go, then it’ll probably end up on the floor! (I can attest this totally works!)

My Organizing Advice:

  • Store like items together.
  • Use, buy, or make products that help you store items so you can SEE them. If you can’t see it, you won’t wear it!
  • Store clothing vertically so you can easily view all your items and so you don’t mess up piles when reaching for something at the bottom.
  • Store items in the color of the rainbow! It looks pretty and you can find things quickly.
  • For off season clothing- use clear tubs or bags. (Again, so you can quickly see inside if you need something!) You can also get labels- or both if you’re feeling fancy!
  • Include moth prevention treatment for winter sweaters.
  • Make sure your items are not stuffed to the max into one certain area. Your items will get wrinkled, they’ll be harder to see, and you won’t want to put them back after doing laundry! Try a new spot for that group of items or buy a new storage option that fits everything you have.
  • Organizing is like a puzzle. Sometimes you have to try a few strategies and can be a bit frustrating at times, but the final product is so fulfilling!

TIP: DO NOT go out and buy tons of storage boxes until you’ve cleaned out your closet. You may get rid of lots of things or you may be able to use things that you already have. Once you’ve paired like items together you’ll know exactly what you need to buy. (And don’t forget to measure your space so you know it will fit!)

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.29.58 PM

Piles of clothes and shoes were organized and slowly and surely we began to put things back in! I let Molly work her magic and watched as she completely re-did my system. She asked me questions about what I wore the most to make the system work best for me. Are you ready to see the finished product?

Molly took my sweaters and organized them between my two clear boxes. She also taught me that folding vertically is better than horizontally. This way, you can easily slide out the sweater or shirt you want to wear without disturbing the others. BRILLIANT!

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 12.13.05 PM

Molly was able to clear up so much space in my closet, that all my nice bags fit perfectly a top my closet shelf!

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 12.13.14 PM

I no longer have to stack my sweater boxes on top of each other. They now fit perfectly right next to each other. There is even room for that big sweater I had just chillin’ on the left side of my shelf!

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.31.46 PM

Molly took my belts and organized them into a drawer console. I also am storing some of my clutches and extra jewlery!

Screen Shot 2016-04-15 at 4.31.22 PM

We added a shoe storage unit that hangs down. Molly was also able to free up a ton of space on the left of my closet to store all my boots and not-as-often worn shoes!

I am so thrilled with the results and I couldn’t be happier with the transformation. Thank you Molly for all your hard work. For those of you in the New York metropolitan area, please reach out to Molly for all your organizational needs. Her rates are the most affordable in the market and her work is totally worth the investment. You can check out her website here. If you mention my blog or my name, you get 25% off!!!

As always, thank you for visiting my blog. I really hope you enjoyed this post and learned a little more about organizing and spring cleaning. My life has been CHANGED. I can honestly attest that it has been a full week since this transformation and my closet still looks like this!!

Finally, I linked out some of the organizational items we used to transform my closet in case any of you want to tackle this on your own!

Hi Lovelies!! Say the title of this post three times fast haha! I love a good piece that is stylish AND versatile. I found this dress at the White House Black Market sale and fell in LOVE. If you can believe it, this denim “vest” is actually a dress, I just decided to wear it open over a turtleneck and black ankle pants for a different look. I can’t wait to style this denim dress all year round. Sadly, the regular version is sold out, but I linked it below in case you wanted to sign up for the waitlist. They come back in stock a lot of the time. The good news is, this dress runs really long (which is good for me, but not for normal folks) and they have it available in petite! I bet the petite would fit perfectly for women under 5’7. You can shop the whole look below.

Cheers to a great week ahead. Mondays are the worst!!

Today marks a year since my bridal shower and because I didn’t have my blog a year ago, I thought it would be fun to share some throwback photos of my shower with you guys :). If you have been following me for a while, you probably know that I love Celine Dion, so naturally my Mom and sister decided to make the theme of my shower “Champagne and Celine.” My Mom had a gorgeous sign hand painted with a quote from one of my all time favorite Celine songs “Because You Loved Me” which served as the centerpiece of the table. It was so gorgeous that we had it displayed at our wedding a few months later! If you can’t already tell from the photos, my Mother has incredible taste and when I walked into my shower I was just blown away by how beautiful everything was. From the hand painted sign & mini gift boxes to the monogram cookies, every detail was thought out and simply perfect. Not only did my Mom and sister throw me a beautiful shower, it was so personal to who I am. Those types of special details make all the difference. I mean, how funny is that framed picture of Celine?! I love it!!

The dress that I wore at my bridal shower is still available and on sale! I of course linked it out below for you guys to shop :).

On another note, It really is so incredible how fast time seems to fly by. In only a few months Matt and I will be celebrating our first year of marriage. It makes me realize how special each and every moment is and that we should never take any moment for granted. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of life, but it’s reflecting on beautiful moments spent with the ones you love that help remind us to take a moment to appreciate the blessings we are gifted every day.

I am a basics gal through and through. I love black and white, and I always tend to gravitate towards those colors when making purchases. I have to remind myself to buy more colorful pieces because if I didn’t, everything in my wardrobe would be black, white and varying shades of grey lol! I found this French Connection dress at T.J. Maxx at the beginning of the season and I’ve gotten a ton of wear out of it. I find that layering over it is awesome. This specific color way is sold out, but they made this dress in a bunch of different patterns which I have linked below. I actually prefer the blue and white striped option I linked out and I just might have to buy that one too! Spring can be a little awkward to dress for since it is warming up but still crisp in the mornings and evenings. That’s why I love pairing a sweater dress with open toed heels. It’s a great transitional look.

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

This past weekend was one of the best weekend’s I’ve had all year! I say that because not only was my sister and her husband Mark in town, but one of my dearest friends got engaged!! It really was such a beautiful weekend filled with laughter and love and I wanted to share some of the highlights with you all :)!

I don’t know about you guys, but the best part of being with family is honestly just being together. Whether it be running about town, or just sitting at home on the couch, I have such a blast with family.

Britta arrived later on Friday evening so we went to bed early and woke up early to get a head start on the day.

Screen Shot 2016-04-11 at 4.51.15 PM

We decided to get a work out in before the day started so I of COURSE had to take Britta to Mile High Run Club for an awesomely efficient 45 minute workout class. We took the “Dash 28” class which is 28 minutes of interval training followed by 15 minutes of strength training. If you know me, you know I used to hate running and one of my worst childhood memories was being forced to join the summer track team! That said, since taking class at Mile High, I have gotten so much better at running and honestly enjoy taking class. They organize the workout so that you are only ever running at the most four minutes in a row but focusing on intervals, and you can do anything for that long! Britta also really enjoyed class and it felt great to get a little workout in before our brunching began ;)!

We had brunch at one of my absolute favorite brunch spots in NYC, La Pecora Bianca! Their food and cocktails are so delicious! I highly recommend this place for breakfast lunch and dinner! Luckily for Matt and I, it’s right down the street from our apartment.

After brunch, Britta and I decided to venture out to do a little shopping! The weather was terrible and rainy but we decided to venture out anyways! I wore my favorite hunter boots, A.G. jeans, Louis Vuitton bag and Calvin Klein trench coat. I topped off my look with my favorite accessory…my sweet nephew Quasar! Can you spot him??!

He is the sweetest little guy! He just loves to be swaddled into a scarf and come along for the ride. He is like a little baby haha! Miss him already :(!

After a day of shopping we came back and got dressed for dinner! I wore my favorite Material Girl Jumpsuit and Britta wore a gorgeous tuxedo romper by Nasty Gal! We had dinner at STK Prime and ate our weight in food haha. We took it easy after dinner and went to bed at a reasoable hour like the mature adults that we are ;). Sadly Britta and Mark had to leave early Sunday morning and I miss them already!!

When I decided to share this weekend with you guys, I had only planned on telling you all about my weekend spent with my family. That was until I went to a birthday brunch for my dear friend Brooke, who had JUST gotten engaged Sunday morning! It was such a celebration and there was so much love surrounding the group that I just had to share on the blog.

Brooke and Brian got engaged on Sunday morning before her birthday brunch at Rosie’s! She was totally shocked as were we! Props to Brian for keeping it a surprise! We had such a wonderful meal filled with laughter and love. I sure do love these friends of mine! I am so so happy for you, Brooke and Brian! This is such an exciting time! Cheers to the happy couple!

Hi Lovelies! I hope you are having a great week! I apologize for the lapse in posting. I was sick this week and then super busy with work and wasn’t able to get my act together to post. Anyways, I am feeling better and back to blogging :).  I am re-posting these looks from last summer today because I just saw that Nordstrom has restocked this amazing over the shoulder top! I loved it so much I bought it last year in both colors. I loved how I could pair it with a skirt for a dressy summer look, or with jean shorts for a casual look. On top of all that, this top is under $40! I don’t know about you but I am so sick of this gross weather we are having and the only thing that is making me feel better is shopping for new spring & summer clothes haha!

On another note, what are you all up to this weekend? I am so excited because my sister is coming to visit for the weekend with her husband Mark. We have a lot of brunching in shopping in our future! I can’t WAIT!

Hi Lovelies! I hope you all had a FABULOUS week :)! I’m coming at you with another casual weekend look! My mother bought me this amazing grey boucle sweater coat for Christmas and I have been wearing it so many different ways. It is the perfect topper to throw on a casual look with jeans like I did here, or to pair it with a dress like I did in this blog post! It’s also incredibly comfortable and almost like wearing a blanket. Lastly, it’s only $50 on sale…have I convinced you to purchase yet? HA! I threw on these awesome Adidas sneakers and an oversized plaid tunic to finish the look. The plaid tunic is an old top I bought from H&M but I linked another option here. I actually think I like this one better!

Do you all have any fun plans this weekend? I am looking forward to seeing friends and taking having some R&R with the hubby!

Happy FriYAY!
