Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week. The cold and snow came back upon us naive New Yorkers this week with a vengeance! It took all of my might to stand outside for 10 minutes to shoot this look! It has been so cold that all I wanted to wear was oversized cozy items, so I kept my new spring options in the closet and threw on this cozy casual look. I bought this oversized sweater at the beginning of the fall season last year and I have gotten SO MUCH wear out of it. It is so warm and cozy. Sadly this color is sold out but there are a few options left over in the navy. It’s super oversized though and completely covers my bump! I swear I am still pregnant and I shot this less than a week ago ha! I paired this sweater with boyfriend jeans and ankle booties. Very chill and cozy.

I also wanted to share that today, I am 20 weeks pregnant and half way through baking this sweet baby! I honestly can’t believe it. It’s going so fast! I got a great response from my first “bumpdate” so I thought I’d keep it up and share a little more into my experience thus far. These are questions that a lot of you have asked so I thought i’d gather them up and answer them!

How far along are you?

I am 5 months pregnant! Halfway and 20 weeks along. You are really pregnant for 10 months…no one really tells you that!!

Due Date:

August 4th

What are your cravings?

This is so weird but I have been craving shrimp tempura sushi. I always liked sushi before I got pregnant, but I NEVER craved it. Now I can’t get enough of it and because I can’t have the raw stuff I settle for shrimp tempura. I think it’s really the salt in the soy sauce that I love so much. How weird is that though?! I also have been loving Milano cookies. I really like the orange flavor . I’m very into citrus. Craving grapefruit and orange and apples etc. Oh! And I looooove iced tea. It tastes so refreshing to me during this pregnancy haha!

Boy or Girl?

BABY GIRL!

What size is the baby?

She is the size of a banana…whatever that means lol!

How are you sleeping?

Still sleeping so well mostly because of the magical snoogle! I tend to get about 9 hours a night of sleep. Hope my amazing sleep habits continue through to the end. Fingers crossed.

Have you felt the baby kick yet?

YES! I finally started to feel her kick. They are super faint and feel like there is an actual butterfly trapped inside of me, but I definitely feel her. I am so excited to feel her even more as she gets stronger.

What has been the hardest thing about your pregnancy thus far?

I think the hardest thing about this pregnancy is how much I have struggled to stay active. Before I got pregnant, I used to work out 4-5 times per week. I love my dance fitness and staying active! Right before I got pregnant I suffered a neck injury that kept me from working out for about a month. I actually pulled my neck in my sleep so terribly that I could barely walk. The pain lasted for over a month and I had to go to therapy for it. It was not fun to say the least. I found out I was pregnant and I was still going to therapy so I wasn’t going to hop back in to working out any time soon. The first trimester was also a challenge because I was so nauseous and exhausted. Working out sounded like the absolute last thing I should be doing! Once I entered into my second trimester I started feeling a lot better, but that’s when the back pain started. I would go to a workout class and feel good during it, but then leave with a horrible back ache. It’s been so frustrating because I want to work out, but my body is just not on board! I have been good about walking though which has helped with my sanity. I walk to and from work now that the weather has gotten a little better and that has definitely helped. This isn’t really that big of an issue. I know that so many women have such harder struggles during pregnancy and I do not want to sound like a brat. I just find it frustrating to have had my normal exercise and routine change so much. I just want to be as strong and healthy as I can for baby girl, but my doctor says the most important thing is to relax and listen to my body. So that’s what I’m trying to do. If you guys have any advice or have had similar issues during pregnancy let me know. It always helps to know I am not alone in what I am going through :).

Another thing that has been hard to adjust to has been the transition and changes my body goes through on a daily basis. Some days I wake up and I don’t even recognize myself! It’s hard to keep up with the changes, but I am trying to embrace them and go with the flow. I just have to keep reminding myself that this isn’t my body right now, it belongs to this incredible baby girl inside of me.

What do you miss about before being pregnant?

I think what I miss most is having more energy to go out and be social. Before getting pregnant, Matt and I would go out a few times a week for dinners, date nights and drinks with friends. Since getting pregnant I have had a tough time rallying after 6:00 P.M. hah! My current idea of a fun evening is ordering take out and snuggling up with Matt on the sofa watching a movie. I have gotten better at being more social but it is not easy! I am just so tired at the end of the day so the idea of getting dressed up and going out isn’t appealing. That said, it is important that I get up and go out sometimes, so I do. Matt is so amazing and would literally stay in every single night with me if he could. I feel very lucky that he enjoys staying in and snuggling with me and baby as much I love it :).

What is your favorite part about pregnancy?

Being pregnant has been one of the greatest blessings of my whole life. I love knowing that Matt and I created this little person from our love for each other and that she will be a part of both of us. It is such an incredible experience and I simply feel so blessed to be pregnant. Despite the challenges of pregnancy, there really are no words to explain this unbelievable experience and all I can say is that it’s the best time of my life so far.

I hope you guys enjoyed this bumpdate!

Xoxo-J
